NeetCode Pro Review 2026: Worth It Beyond the Free Roadmap?

NeetCode is one of the best places to learn coding-interview patterns, and much of that value is free: a 150-problem roadmap labeled Free, with video explanations. NeetCode Pro, at $119 for a year or $297 lifetime, adds courses, AI help and company tags. Its company lists are short at OpenAI, Anthropic and Stripe.

Disclosure: TrueInterview is a competing interview-preparation product, and this review is published by TrueInterview. We checked NeetCode's public pages signed out on September 19, 2026, and saved every page we cite; TrueInterview's own pages were saved on September 18, 2026. We did not buy NeetCode Pro, so we did not use NeetBot, the AI hints, the paid courses or the full company-tagged lists; anything behind the paywall is described from NeetCode's own wording, not tested. Factual statements about either product trace to wording on the saved pages listed in Sources, and where we could not see something, we say so.

Quick Verdict: Is NeetCode Pro Worth It in 2026?

For many candidates, the free tier is the main event and Pro is optional. NeetCode's free roadmap orders the core data-structure and algorithm topics so each builds on the last, and its home page promises a video explanation for every problem. Pro makes the most sense if you want the video courses, the AI assistant, or a lifetime purchase that includes future content. It is a weaker fit if what you need is a record of what one company asked in one round: its tagged lists are short for OpenAI, Anthropic and Stripe, and the signed-out company pages we saw show no dates.

What We Verified — and What We Did Not

We sorted every statement into evidence tiers. Observed means we saw it on a public page while signed out, such as the plan cards on the Pro page or the problem counts on a company page. First-party means NeetCode says it about itself and we could not test it, such as the number of videos or the 1M+ engineers figure. Ours means a statement from TrueInterview's own public pages, held to the same standard. We used no third-party reviews.

What we did not verify matters. We did not watch paid course videos, try NeetBot or the AI debug feature, or open the full company-tagged lists, so we cannot say what the Pro view of those lists shows. The Pro page's FAQ lists questions about student discounts and refunds, but the answers were collapsed in the page text we saved, so the refund discussion below relies on the Terms. We checked five company pages out of a directory that runs to 22 pages. Where we cite a total, it is the number the page displays.

What NeetCode Actually Is

NeetCode is a coding-interview learning platform built around a topic roadmap, video explanations, written solutions and an in-browser editor. Its founder writes on the home page that he started it in 2020 while unemployed. The site says it is trusted by 1M+ engineers and lists three free study plans, Blind 75, NeetCode 150 and NeetCode 250, plus a public Discord community.

The practice menu now goes well beyond algorithms. It includes company-tagged problems, cheatsheets, quizzes, an AI Coding section in beta, system design, machine learning, low-level design and databases. The machine-learning track runs from gradient descent to a working GPT clone across 36 problems. There is also a Versus mode where you race a friend on an interview problem. The courses page groups video courses by subject, with the beginner algorithms course listed at 25 hours, plus 11 standalone lessons.

The AI Coding beta is worth singling out because it is NeetCode's answer to newer interview formats. NeetCode describes AI-assisted sessions with written reflection and a voice mock-interview mode, organized in three phases: bug fix, implementation and optimization. As of September 19, 2026 the section held 6 problems.

NeetCode Pricing in 2026

NeetCode Pro has two plans, both paid up front, and neither shows a monthly price. The Lifetime plan is $297 as a one-time payment, shown next to a struck-through $599. One-Year Access is $119, next to a struck-through $199, with auto-renew off by default. Both include a private Discord community, and a gift option is offered.

The renewal terms are unusually buyer-friendly, and the Terms match the plan card. The Terms say the One-Year plan is charged once per year and does not auto-renew by default, and that Pro includes all future content updates. The refund terms are stricter. The Terms say NeetCode generally does not offer refunds because its content is consumable, and point to its free content as the way to try before buying. Refunds may be granted at NeetCode's discretion in rare circumstances, and cancelling or disabling auto-renewal does not result in a refund. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred to another person or email.

For comparison, TrueInterview's Pro plan is $29 per month and Insider is $39 per month, or $119 and $159 per year charged once, with Lifetime at $259 for Pro or $359 for Insider. TrueInterview's pricing page labels every plan as discounted for a limited time, and calls the $359 Insider Lifetime a launch price that rises to $699 afterwards. After cancellation you keep the plan until the end of the paid period; we found no refund terms on the pricing page or in the Terms we saved. The company question banks this review compares are an Insider feature, so the like-for-like yearly comparison is NeetCode's $119 against TrueInterview Insider's $159.

Company Coverage: NeetCode vs TrueInterview

NeetCode's company-tagged lists are larger than TrueInterview's at Google, Meta and Amazon, and smaller at OpenAI, Anthropic and Stripe. The two sites count different things. NeetCode's figure is the number of problems it tags as interview questions from that company, and it did not publish how tags are sourced on any page we saved. TrueInterview's figure is questions candidates reported from that company, across several formats; the algorithm column below is the closest like-for-like comparison.

Across the whole catalogue, NeetCode's company directory runs to 22 pages and its Pro page says 100+ companies; TrueInterview's index lists 99 companies. The top of NeetCode's directory is Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and Bloomberg, each with several hundred tagged problems, so for classic big-tech algorithm loops NeetCode's lists are the larger set. Signed out, each of the five company pages we checked showed one problem row before a prompt to join Pro. The signed-out list columns were status, star, problem, difficulty and solution, with no date; we did not see the Pro view. TrueInterview's five company pages we checked each show an update month.

Question Quality and Sourcing

NeetCode's free problem pages are well built for learning. The pages we opened gave a problem statement, a target time and space complexity, graded hints that move from brute force toward the key idea, a code editor, and a discussion tab showing a count of 551 on one problem. NeetCode's guide says each problem has a video solution and code solutions in several languages. The guide is candid, too: it tells readers the difficulty of some problems is not accurate.

Company sourcing is less documented on the public pages. NeetCode says its company lists are sorted by how frequently problems appear in interviews, and problem pages ask users whether they have seen the question in a real interview, which suggests user reports feed in. Company tags appear as a company name with a count. We did not find a public page explaining how those counts are collected or when. On a second problem page, the company tags were locked behind Pro.

Neither product's terms promise accuracy. NeetCode's Terms say it does not warrant the accuracy, likely results or reliability of its materials. TrueInterview's terms disclaim any representation that user content is original, accurate or complete, and its methodology calls the bank a sample of what was asked, not a syllabus. What differs is the filing: TrueInterview attributes each question to a company, round and format and shows the month reported where a candidate gave one. Our own interview board also contains thin entries, so volume is not a quality signal on either site.

NeetCode's Free Roadmap and Videos: Useful or Overstated?

Useful, and genuinely so; this is NeetCode's strongest feature. The roadmap is a 150-problem path split into 28 easy, 101 medium and 21 hard problems, covering topics through intervals, greedy, advanced graphs, 2-D dynamic programming and bit manipulation. NeetCode describes the NeetCode 150 as the list for people already familiar with basic data structures, and its free guide gives practical rules of thumb. Look at the solution after 15 to 20 minutes without progress. Consider yourself close to ready when you can solve most unseen medium problems in 20 to 25 minutes. The guide was updated July 3, 2026.

The paid courses extend this. The beginners' algorithms course lists 35 lessons and describes 34 video lectures, 34 written articles and 63 coding exercises with video solutions; some lessons are marked free. The System Design Interview course marks its approach lesson and one design walkthrough as free. The Pro page lists solutions in eight languages, NeetBot for questions and visual walkthroughs, and AI hints that stop short of the answer.

Two notes on the numbers. The home page says 1,000+ practice problems and video explanations, while the Pro page lists 200+ videos and 300+ problems; these appear to count different scopes, so read them as describing different parts of the site. Separately, the system design practice section is labeled deprecated, with a note that it will be replaced with updated material; the two system design video courses are listed separately on the courses page. How the free and paid tiers split varies by set: the NeetCode 150 is free to practice, while in the Core Skills set 4 of 20 problems are free and 16 are Pro.

Privacy, Data and Terms

NeetCode's privacy policy covers the basics of collection, retention and deletion. The version we saved is dated 02/03/2026 and says the company is headquartered in Washington state; the Terms apply Washington law. The one third-party service it names is Cloudflare Images, for profile pictures. Beyond that, it says third-party services collect only what they need to perform their services. Log files may include device identifiers and advertising identifiers. If you delete your account, personal information is deleted within 30 days, while anonymized or aggregated data may be kept indefinitely.

The Pro page lists NeetBot and AI hints; the privacy policy we saved does not name an AI model provider. NeetCode's Terms grant it a worldwide, royalty-free license to content users post and say not all user content is pre-screened, a standard arrangement for sites with comment threads.

Where NeetCode Is Strong — and Where It Falls Short

Strengths

• A free, ordered 150-problem roadmap where each topic builds on the last.
• A video explanation promised for every problem, plus written solutions.
• Free problem pages with complexity targets, graded hints and a discussion tab.
• Renewal terms that favor the buyer: the One-Year plan does not auto-renew by default.
• A lifetime plan that includes future content.
• Newer tracks for AI-assisted coding and machine learning.

Limitations

• Company lists are short at OpenAI, Anthropic and Stripe: 6, 1 and 4 tagged problems.
• No public page we found explains how company tags are sourced, and the signed-out views show no dates.
• Refunds are generally not offered, and cancelling does not trigger one.
• The system design practice section is deprecated pending replacement.
• Signed out, each of the five company lists we checked showed one row before the Pro prompt.

NeetCode vs TrueInterview: Which Should You Choose?

Learn patterns with NeetCode; for a specific company's specific rounds, use a bank filed by company and round. If you are months out, rusty on data structures, or learn best from video, NeetCode's free roadmap is the right starting point, and Pro is a reasonable buy once you know you will use the courses. NeetCode's own readiness test, solving unseen mediums in 20 to 25 minutes, is a good checkpoint before you switch modes.

Once you have interviews booked, the question changes from "which pattern" to "what does this company ask in this round." TrueInterview is built for that step: questions are filed by company, round and format, show the month reported where a candidate gave one, and coding answers are judged on hidden tests on the server. It also has workspaces for system design, SQL and multi-file AI coding rounds. At OpenAI, Anthropic and Stripe it lists 28, 16 and 27 algorithm questions alongside system design, low-level design and AI coding questions. Those company banks are in the Insider plan.

TrueInterview is not the better choice for everyone. It does not sell mock interviews with human engineers, and its pages describe a record of company questions with workspaces rather than a course. If you need to learn a topic from zero, NeetCode's video path is the better fit. Many candidates will reasonably use both: NeetCode for the foundation, a company bank for the final weeks.

A Seven-Day Test Before You Pay

Because NeetCode generally does not refund, test the free tier first, as its Terms suggest. Days one and two: work the first two roadmap topics and watch the videos, checking whether the explanations click for you. Day three: take a free lesson from the beginners' course and one from the System Design Interview course. Day four: open your target company's page and see what is visible before the Pro prompt. Day five: if your target runs AI-assisted rounds, look at the AI Coding beta and check which problems open on your account. Days six and seven: time yourself on unseen mediums against NeetCode's 20-to-25-minute benchmark. If you are consistently inside that window and your interviews are close, company-specific practice is probably the better use of your remaining time.

Is NeetCode Pro worth it in 2026?

It is worth it if you will use the video courses, AI assistant or multi-language solutions. The One-Year plan is $119 and Lifetime is $297 as of September 19, 2026. If you mainly want to finish the roadmap, the NeetCode 150 is free to practice, so try that first and decide once you know which paid features you would actually use.

Is NeetCode free?

Largely, yes. The NeetCode 150 roadmap is labeled free, the problem pages we opened showed the statement, hints and editor while signed out, and NeetCode says each problem has a video solution. The Pro page lists full courses, company tags and AI features as paid, and 16 of the 20 Core Skills problems are Pro.

Does NeetCode Pro auto-renew?

The One-Year Access plan does not auto-renew by default, according to both the Pro page and the Terms. If you turn auto-renewal on, you can disable it before the period ends, but disabling it does not produce a refund. The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment, so there is nothing to renew or cancel on it.

Does NeetCode give refunds?

Generally no. The Terms say NeetCode does not usually offer refunds because its content is consumable, and point buyers to the free content to try first. Refunds may be granted at NeetCode's discretion in rare circumstances, and you can contact support if you believe there was a mistake. The Pro page FAQ answer was not visible in our saved copy.

Are NeetCode's company tags accurate?

We could not find a public page explaining how NeetCode collects its tags. Its company lists are sorted by how often problems appear in interviews, problem pages ask whether you saw the question in a real interview, and the tags show counts without dates on the pages we saw. Its Terms disclaim any warranty of accuracy. Treat tags as a prioritization hint.

Is NeetCode enough for OpenAI, Anthropic or Stripe interviews?

For the algorithm foundation, it helps. For company-specific preparation, its tagged lists held 6 problems for OpenAI, 1 for Anthropic and 4 for Stripe on September 19, 2026. Its AI Coding beta adds 6 AI-assisted problems. Pair it with a source that files questions by company and round for those employers.

NeetCode or TrueInterview: which should I use first?

Start with NeetCode if you are still learning patterns; its roadmap is ordered for that. Move to TrueInterview once you have interviews scheduled and want questions filed by company and round, with the month reported where a candidate gave one. Its company banks are in the Insider plan, and it does not offer human mock interviews.

Final Verdict

NeetCode deserves its reputation. Its free roadmap, video explanations and hint-rich problem pages are among the best ways to learn interview patterns, and its One-Year plan does not auto-renew by default. Pro is a fair purchase for learners who will use the courses and AI help, as long as you accept the refund terms. For the last weeks before a specific company's loop, especially OpenAI, Anthropic or Stripe, its short company lists are the gap. That is the job a question bank filed by company and round is for.
