LeetCode Premium Review 2026: Is $159 a Year Worth It?

LeetCode Premium is worth it if you want a very large general coding library, a free-to-start study path and a yearly plan at $159. It is a weaker fit if your target is an AI lab or Stripe, where company tags are small. The Terms make fees non-refundable, though the Help Center says requests are reviewed case by case.

Disclosure: TrueInterview is a competing interview-preparation product, and this review is published by TrueInterview. We checked LeetCode's public pages signed out on September 19, 2026, and saved every page we cite. We did not buy Premium, so the company question lists, premium problems, the Ask Leet agent, the debugger and the mock assessments are described from LeetCode's own wording, not tested. Factual statements about either product trace to wording on a saved page, listed in Sources; where a sentence is our opinion or our own reading, we say so.

Quick Verdict: Is LeetCode Premium Worth It in 2026?

For most software engineers, yes, on the yearly plan, and in our view many can put it off until the free tier runs out. LeetCode is the default coding-practice site for good reasons: its signed-out problem list counts 4055 problems and its home page says over 4300, it claims hundreds of thousands of active users and 14 supported languages, and a single classic problem like Two Sum shows 23,465,675 accepted submissions. Much of the value is free: the Top Interview 150 list is open signed out, as are an interview crash course and a system design course.

Premium adds company-tagged question lists, premium problems, Explore cards and solutions, a debugger, autocomplete, priority judging, unlimited playgrounds, cloud storage, timed company mock assessments and the Ask Leet AI agent. The trade-offs: LeetCode says the company tags come from user surveys, and signed out you see each company's count and one sample question but not the list.

What We Verified — and What We Did Not

We sorted every statement into evidence tiers. Observed means we saw it on a public page while signed out, such as the price cards or a company page's question count. First-party means LeetCode says it about itself and we could not test it, such as priority judging being up to ten times faster at peak hours. Ours means a statement from TrueInterview's own public pages; these are our claims about ourselves, and no one outside TrueInterview has verified them. We used no third-party reviews or forum anecdotes.

What we did not verify is substantial. We could not see any company's tagged question list, its frequency data or whether its questions carry dates, any premium problem, the locked Explore company cards, or the mock assessment flow, whose page rendered almost nothing signed out. The Premium page has a frequently asked questions block, but its answers were not visible in the saved page text, so we rely on the Help Center and the Terms for billing rules. Where we compare counts, we compare the numbers each site displays and say where they measure different things.

What LeetCode Actually Is

LeetCode is a coding-practice platform run by LeetCode, LLC that positions itself as the place to build skills and prepare for technical interviews. The free product is a large judged problem set filtered by topic and category: Array alone is tagged on 2261 problems, and categories extend beyond algorithms to Database, Shell, Concurrency, JavaScript and pandas. Free problem pages carry hints and a discussion thread; Two Sum's shows 2.1K entries. Study plans such as LeetCode 75, Top Interview 150 and SQL 50 give a structured path, with Premium Algo 100 and Advanced SQL 50 on top.

LeetCode also has a business side. It sells contests, online assessments and training to companies and runs LeetCode Interview, an online coding interview platform for professionals whose question sets it says are used in millions of real technical interviews. Its Discuss forum has an Interview section next to Career and Compensation, where users post questions about specific online assessments.

LeetCode Premium Pricing in 2026

Premium has two public plans, and the yearly one is the better deal by LeetCode's own math. As of September 19, 2026, the monthly plan is $35 per month, displayed against a struck-through $39, and grants access to all premium features. The yearly plan is billed at $159, which LeetCode frames as $13.25 per month against a previous $299 and a saving of over 62% versus monthly. Prices are in US dollars.

Read the refund rules before paying. The Terms say all fees are non-refundable and that LeetCode will not prorate a subscription terminated early, and you must cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. The Help Center adds that after cancelling you keep access to the end of the billing period but will not receive a refund. The same Help Center article, updated four months before our check, says subscriptions are non-refundable "in most cases" and that requests are reviewed case by case. After Premium lapses, you can retrieve code for premium problems but cannot run or submit it.

For comparison, TrueInterview's yearly Insider plan is also $159, with a stated previous price of $299; its monthly Insider plan, the one that includes company question banks, is $39, and Pro is $29. TrueInterview's prices are labelled limited-time discounts. Neither its pricing page nor its Terms offer refunds; cancelling stops renewal and you keep the paid period.

Company Coverage: LeetCode vs TrueInterview

At Google and Meta, LeetCode's company tags hold far more questions than TrueInterview's banks; at OpenAI, Anthropic and Stripe, TrueInterview lists more questions than LeetCode tags, though the two counts measure different things. LeetCode says a company tag collects problems users report meeting at that company through a survey. TrueInterview's counts are reported questions that include system design, SQL, object design and AI-pairing rounds, attributed to a round and a format.

Each of the five LeetCode company pages in the table showed an "Updated: 6 hours ago" stamp. Signed out, each page shows its count, save count and one free sample question, then asks you to subscribe for the rest. The "saves" column is how many users saved that company's list, a rough signal of use.

The practical reading, in our view: for Google, Meta and other large employers, LeetCode's tag lists are deep and TrueInterview's banks are smaller. At Anthropic, a 4-question tag gives limited coverage of a full loop, and that is the case TrueInterview is built for.

Question Quality and Sourcing

LeetCode's problems are judged and heavily used, and that is its core strength. On company attribution, LeetCode's Help Center says company lists are compiled from user survey answers to whether you met a question in a real interview and are kept up to date as survey data grows. Signed out, only one sample question per company is visible, so we could not see whether tagged questions are dated; Premium advertises sorting by role, time or frequency. The Study Plan page also includes a Sprint Interview section of plans labelled Spring '23.

TrueInterview's own sourcing claims carry their own limits. It says each question comes from someone who sat the interview, that some entries are reports candidates published elsewhere, and that the check against a company's existing questions merges re-reports rather than duplicating them. It shows the reported month where the report gave one and calls its bank a sample of what was asked, not a syllabus. Its Terms say it does not provide any company's actual interview questions and does not pre-screen or verify user content, and both services are provided "as is".

Company Tags and Interview Simulations: How Useful Are They?

Company tags are a headline Premium feature, and at the largest employers the volume is real. Premium also promises mock assessments where you choose a company and get a timed question, and company-focused Explore cards for Google, Facebook, Amazon and others, all locked signed out. The Help Center summary of Premium lists premium questions and articles, company sorting, premium Explore content, company mock interviews and priority judging.

How much this helps depends on the company. At Google, with 2,342 tagged questions, the task is prioritising, which is what frequency sorting is for. At Anthropic, with 4, or Stripe, with 11, a tag list alone gives limited coverage of a full loop, in our view. We could not test whether Premium's role sorting shows round information. The AI tools are generous: Ask Leet gives Premium members 500 extra monthly credits and up to 30 solution analyses a day.

Privacy, Data and Terms

LeetCode's Privacy Policy is short and makes a clear no-sale commitment. Its last-modified line reads December 13, 2017. It says LeetCode will not share, sell, rent or trade personal information except as the policy sets out, collects persistent identifiers such as IP address, uses service providers for tasks such as analytics who are bound not to use the data for other purposes, may share aggregated, non-identifying data with third parties, including for contextual advertising, and may process data in the United States.

Account deletion starts a 15-day cool-off, after which the account is permanently deleted. The self-service flow does not process deletion while Premium is active, but the policy points you to support in that case. Deletion removes access to purchased subscriptions. The Terms, last modified April 5, 2024, require users to be 18 or emancipated, grant LeetCode a perpetual, irrevocable license to content you submit that survives account deletion, send disputes to JAMS arbitration with a class-action waiver, cap liability at $500, and require claims within six months.

TrueInterview's Terms have comparable provisions: a class-action waiver, a one-year claim limit, and liability capped at the greater of fees paid in the prior twelve months or $100. Its legal documents have been in force since July 15, 2026, its Privacy Policy names its AI model providers, OpenRouter, including DeepSeek models, and Anthropic, and it commits to deleting or anonymising data within 30 days of a verified request.

Where LeetCode Is Strong — and Where It Falls Short

Strengths

• The largest general library of those we checked: 4055 problems on the problem list, over 4300 by the home page.
• A great deal is free: Top Interview 150, LeetCode 75, SQL 50 and the crash courses.
• Heavy use and discussion on each problem.
• Breadth beyond algorithms: Database, Shell, Concurrency, JavaScript and pandas, and 14 languages.
• Deep, much-saved company tags at Google and Meta, each stamped "Updated: 6 hours ago" when we checked.
• Low yearly price at $159, and $99 a year for qualifying student groups.

Limitations

• Signed out, you see each company's count and one sample, but not the list, before paying.
• Small tags at the AI labs and Stripe: 17 for OpenAI, 4 for Anthropic, 11 for Stripe.
• Company attribution comes from user surveys.
• Terms say fees are non-refundable, with case-by-case review per the Help Center.
• Premium problems cannot be run after Premium lapses.

LeetCode vs TrueInterview: Which Should You Choose?

Use LeetCode for general coding practice; it leads on library size, free study plans and community. Start on the free tier, and buy Premium yearly if you want premium problems, the debugger or deep company lists at large employers.

Use TrueInterview when you have a specific company and round coming up, especially at an employer LeetCode tags thinly, such as Anthropic, OpenAI or Stripe. Insider opens every company question bank, questions are attributed to a round and format, and where a report gave a month, it is shown. TrueInterview is not the better choice if you want the biggest library, contests, or more than six languages, and it does not sell human mock interviews.

In our view, many candidates will use both: LeetCode for fundamentals, then a company-specific source for the last weeks before a loop.

A Seven-Day Test Before You Pay

Because refunds are not guaranteed, test for free first.

1. Days 1-2: work through part of Top Interview 150 on the free tier.
2. Day 3: open your target company's page signed out and note its count.
3. Day 4: if the count is small, as with Anthropic's 4, look for company-specific material elsewhere, including TrueInterview's free questions.
4. Day 5: try the free system design course.
5. Days 6-7: if you still want Premium, weigh one month at $35 against the year at $159, and set a reminder before renewal.

How much is LeetCode Premium in 2026?

As of September 19, 2026, LeetCode Premium is $35 per month on the monthly plan, shown against a struck $39, or $159 billed once a year. Can I get a refund on LeetCode Premium?

In our view, the free study plans cover much of the core material first. Premium is most useful once you know your target company and want to prioritise within a deep list.

Does LeetCode have questions for OpenAI or Anthropic?

Yes, but few. As of September 19, 2026, LeetCode's OpenAI page lists 17 tagged questions and its Anthropic page lists 4; Stripe's lists 11. Signed out you see one sample on each. TrueInterview lists 87 OpenAI questions and 63 Anthropic questions, counted as reported interview questions of several formats.

What do I get for free on LeetCode?

A lot. Signed out you can browse the problem list, read free problems with hints and discussion, and view study plans such as Top Interview 150 and LeetCode 75. The free Explore courses include a data structures crash course and a system design course. Company lists and premium problems need Premium.

Can I delete my LeetCode account while subscribed?

Not through the self-service flow while Premium is active; the Privacy Policy says to contact support in that case. A deletion goes through a 15-day cool-off, after which the account is permanently deleted. Deleting also removes access to subscriptions and content you bought, so it makes sense to let Premium run out first.

Final Verdict

LeetCode Premium is a fair price for what it is: the deepest general coding library of those we checked, a strong free tier and a yearly plan at $159. Buy it yearly once the free tier stops being enough, and buy it for company tags mainly if you are interviewing at a large employer with deep lists. For a specific round at an AI lab or Stripe, where LeetCode's tags are small, pair it with a company-specific source such as TrueInterview, and note that refunds are reviewed case by case rather than guaranteed.
