Requirements
- Once the OA is passed, this pipeline moves to a 20-minute chat with a recruiter.
- Have answers ready for three specific prompts:
- Tell about a difficult project you have handled.
- Offer concrete examples that show your leadership.
- What draws you to Stripe?
Notes
- This chat is a real evaluation step: one candidate cleared the OA, finished the conversation, and got a rejection two days afterward because others were judged a stronger match.
- Following that result, the candidate heard that applying again within 12 months would skip a second OA and any HR outreach. How far that advice extends is unclear, so ask recruiting what the next eligible step is instead of assuming it is a general reapplication rule.
Preparation
- Take 15 minutes to draft one answer about a difficult project: name the challenge, what you decided and did yourself, and the outcome you can back up. Record a two-minute version and confirm that your own part stands apart from what the team did.
- Take 15 minutes to prepare two concrete examples of leadership. For each, state the decision you shaped, whom or what you coordinated, and what resulted; practice saying each aloud without leaning on a job title as proof of leadership.
- Write a one-minute answer on why Stripe, tying the role you are targeting to an interest or experience that is yours. Then do a 20-minute mock session on the three prompts above, saving time to ask recruiting about the next step and any advice on reapplying.
