Describe toughest project and align stakeholders remotely

Walk me through the most demanding data science project you drove end-to-end in the past 24 months. Within 90 seconds, cover: the business objective, the exact scope (what you owned versus what others owned), the main constraints (data quality, latency/SLA, privacy, headcount), and the quantified result with before-and-after metrics. Then, in a fully digital-first, remote organization spanning at least three time zones, explain precisely how you kept Product, Engineering, and Design aligned when their goals pulled in different directions (for example, Product wants a 1.5 percentage point lift in D7 retention, Engineering prioritizes stability and error budget, Marketing is pushing for a fast visual refresh). Walk through your decision framework, the documents you used (RFCs, PRDs, experiment briefs, decision logs), how you managed disagreement (one specific “disagree-and-commit” instance), your escalation route, and what you made permanent afterward (playbooks, guardrails, dashboards). Include specific dates, named owners, and the KPIs you moved, plus one mistake you would avoid next time.
Overview: The question tests leadership, end-to-end project ownership, cross-functional stakeholder alignment, decision-making under constraints, and the ability to quantify business impact in data science work.
